Slashy Souls is a 2D endless runner where you play the canonical star of Dark Souls 2. And that's not the only thing that's reminiscent of From Software's masterpiece: the enemies, settings, objects, and the difficulty level all belong to the Dark Souls universe. The gameplay is the classic for the genre ... but with a bit of added difficulty. Swipe upwards to make your character jump, to the front or back to make your character roll in that direction, tap the screen repeatedly to attack, and keep your finger pressed down to block. Sometimes you can also pick up items such as fire spells, which you can use just by pressing their icon on the screen. The settings are plagued with traps, just as you'd expect from a Dark Souls spinoff. Falling into one of them won't kill you, but two or three eventually will. And then there are also the enemies, which aren't too aggressive but can still slow you down. Slashy Souls is an ... interesting game. Some Dark Souls fans might consider it a real insult to the saga, while others will take it for what it is: just a humble game with more than decent graphics.
